Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method is a form of somatic education that uses gentle movement and focused attention to improve physical and mental functioning. Developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, the method is grounded in the understanding that our movement patterns are closely connected to our thoughts, emotions, and overall well-being.

In the Feldenkrais Method, participants explore small, often subtle movements, typically performed lying down, sitting, or standing. These movements are designed to help individuals become more aware of their habitual movement patterns and discover new, more efficient ways of moving. By improving awareness of how the body moves, the method aims to reduce pain, increase flexibility, enhance coordination, and promote overall physical and mental health.

The Feldenkrais Method can be experienced in two main forms:

The method is used by people of all ages and abilities, including those recovering from injury, athletes, dancers, and anyone looking to improve their quality of movement and life.

James has completed the 4 year program in this method and qualified in 2021. He continues his learning by attending additional Feldenkrais trainings in the UK and Austria to develop his teaching and expertise.

At our clinic, James provides Functional Integration sessions, as well as incorporating his enhanced knowledge of physical movement and physiological function into his treatment sessions.
